JAKARTA:
PT Mitra Ogan Plantation and PT Astra Kartika Barrel, two subsidiaries
of PT (Persero) Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI), which is engaged in
oil palm plantations, together with PT Mega Eltra as a provider of
fertilizer.
Leaders
of three state-owned enterprises (SOEs) signed a memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) in Jakarta on Thursday, as the form of efforts to
increase crop productivity.
"Fertilizer
has a very vital role in crop quality. Therefore, the assuredness of
the availability of fertilizer is non-negotiable in the plantation
industry," said Director of PT RNI Ismed Hasan Putro in a statement
received here on Friday, July 13 of 2012.
PT
RNI are very serious in the development of palm oil to meet growing
business with investments amounting to Rp496, 06 billion or 41 percent
of the total investment allocated to the palm.
In
fact, the word Ismed, in 2012, PT RNI plans to expand oil palm
plantation and the addition of palm oil processing plants and garden
area of 17 400 hectares with a total investment of Rp870 billion in
South Sumatra.
According to him, CPO production in 2011 a subsidiary of PT RNI reached 89 698 tonnes of palm kernel and as many as 20 518 tons.
Expected with this cooperation, the fertilizer will be the right product, the right kind and right price.
Furthermore
Ismed said fertilizer such as is in accordance with the principle of
"good corporate governance" that is transparency, independence,
accountability, responsibility and justice, so avoid fraud attempts.
"The
purchase of fertilizers in large quantities through a single company
will of course be cheaper when compared to retail purchases, one by one
with the subsidiary.," He said.
"Monitoring
the purchase of fertilizer can also be done effectively, given the
holding company can control in terms of quantity, quality and payment." Present

PT
Mega Eltra, a subsidiary of PT Pupuk Sriwijaya, a direct distributor of
fertilizer and plant fertilizer supplies obtained from a number of
national fertilizer industry such as PT Pupuk Kaltim, PT Petro Chemical
Fertilizer, PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda and PT Pupuk Kujang, apart from PT
Pupuk Sriwijaya.
Beware
of cheap fertilizer Fertilizer Sriwijaya Eko Sunarko CEO says it
reminds the user of fertilizer wary of sellers of fertilizer with a
relatively cheap price.
"There
is nothing impossible to sell fertilizer with a relatively low price
than the sale of fertilizer PT Pupuk Sriwijaya," said Eko.
He
stated that the fertilizer is sold at relatively low prices has been
mixed with other substances, and not according to specifications.
Assuredness
of supply and not be tricked by a supplier of fertilizer are among the
reasons that pushed PT RNI to buy fertilizer from fellow state-owned
enterprises (SOEs).
