Mukomuko District -, Bengkulu Province, still requires a minimum of three palm oil mills with a capacity of 60 tonnes / hour in order to process fresh fruit bunches yield owned plantation area of 104 thousand hectares.
"This area only had seven palm oil mills (MCC) with a capacity of 30 to 60 tons / hour. But only five MCC which receives fresh fruit bunches crop farmers," said Head of Licensing, Partnerships and Development Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Plantation , and the District Forestry Mukomuko Budi Yanto in Mukomuko, Thursday, August 8, 2011
He mentioned, technically every maximal MCC currently only able to accommodate and accept the crop farmer with 132 palm plantation area up to 16 thousand hectares.
With extensive data plantation today, then five of the seven factories that are willing to accept and accommodate the harvest would not be able and capable of processing fresh fruit bunches into crude oil.
"If the crop many farmers are not accommodated, the consequences of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) the farmer's lot is not sold and eventually could be damaged. So that the farmers at a disadvantage," he said.
Supposedly, he said, this area has a mini factory in order to help accommodate any crop farmer or businessman from outside who are interested to build the MCC.
In addition to the limitations of MCC to accommodate TBS, road conditions in the location of plantation farming barely passable so that operating costs issued by the farmer becomes larger.
If the location of the plantations are near the road transport costs and lower transportation costs, including workers who harvest also be lower. Instead plantations in distant locations without actually enlarging the absence of road operating costs including the cost of harvesting services.
"Fees and wages harvest gardens within easy reach ranges of up to Rp80 Rp100/kilogram, while a remote location with a barely passable road conditions can reach up to 200 Rp300/kilogram," he said.
To overcome the various problems faced by farmers in this area, he said, then that needs to be done today by adding the number of MCC and gradually build the roads of the plantation business.
"So that farmers can sell TBS and the cost of transportation becomes cheaper," he added.
Furthermore, he explained, there are many other issues that orchard growers need to be overcome gradually, in addition to the above problems, the seeds used by farmers when the garden is also random so that productivity is maximized.(Ant)
